Like I said originally - a relief for him, not you. He got something off his shoulders that was likely bothering him.

I've been there (his position). The friendship usually won't last after admitting those feelings. It can though, if he puts in the work on his end to change his perspective.

Probably fair to feel that way as the person unaware of those feelings.

But walk in his shoes for a minute. Maybe those feelings developed over time and he didn't intend for it either originally.

I'm sure it's a relief for him to have shared. Now you both can decide how to move forward.
