Also, splines and the attached buildings are never seamless and flexible enough to actually match the spline streets, so it feels weird and wrong. E.g. you can only make square housing blocks, otherwise there's unrealistic gaps between the buildings.

The OpenTTD player in me agrees, but I do wonder why that is. I think I like the predictability of tiles, I never have to fight the game about juuust fitting something in, it either does or doesn't, and I can know that when planning something.

Like one die might be a little inconsistent and below average usually, but almost always pulls out the high numbers when it counts? Another die wants no drama so doesn't give many 6s or 1s?

It's a series of scenarios, I think 4 base + 2 dlc, but they are quite extensive scenarios with evolving challenges and goals. There's an overarching storyline, but it's not super connected

Gambling has no upper limit, there's only so much money you can spend on weed in a month, no such thing for money spent on all the various kinds of gambling.
This is also why I think the lottery isn't really harmful, as long as it's not privately managed. You just don't spend that much money on it
