I'd argue AI in general is more hype than anything else. Useful tool, but that's all it is really.

Nope. Jsx is not DOM exclusive and could be used to render CLI output or on the server which lacks some DOM APIs.

Others in this thread have also highlighted how in an app, a visually hidden component is extremely simple.

Check Mantine's visually hide if you'd like to see the equivalent when css is used. Though it was quite a lot of noise for TS's benefit and still has some "library weight", it's much more representative.

Also, they're a css in js solution, which undeniably is heavier than just css, which many will argue is the better way to do styles in react nowadays (or zero runtime solutions).

They're writing a library for one so they have to add extras here (like the ref, which I wouldn't add in an app component unless I encounter a need for it), but for them since they can't know how it will be used, ref needs to be supported.

Also older versions of React, they need to support those.

You're doing a lot in that React sample to make it look worse than it needs to. A fair comparison, this is not.

It does. You have to be cognizant of the limitations of NodeJS of course, but we currently have multiple services handling production for nearly 200 customers. It's really the same as any tech, know the strengths and limitations, build your service architecture in consequence.

And don't even try with splitting steps or matrices. They are so not the same.

I meant "miss" but you know what? Also that, sure. Why not.

No take, no situation. Until he actually does something, he's just shouting in the void. As he often does.
