Peace is the greatest factor in the quality of life of people. No democracy has ever attacked another democracy.
I actually think he doesn't know what fascism is, but it happens to align with his narrow business interests and general admiration of accelerationism

Not-so-hot take: Tim Sweeney is a fascist sympathizer

It also leads to sparse building, furthering the need for cars. I love cars but I don't believe they belong in cities. The dependency on cars leads to pollution, lack of pedestrian infrastructure (since it competes for space with car infrastructure) and traffic, which is you enjoy driving, sucks

Exclusives drive adoption. How did any platform get their users? How did steam get dominant? Counterstrike and half-life 2
This is a mistake made by every failed platform. Why would I switch to a new platform if not to play a new game?

Yeah, that's the way to go IMHO. No point in going with gas lines around your home at this point

In retrospect, we should have gone with a battery backup system. With PSE interactive I believe it's the easy to go

We have a natural gas generator for the 7 days of outage per year we have every year but yeah, kinda crazy we have to rely on that...

This is not a positive trend. But my whole point is, why the praise for China in particular? Aren't there other countries more worthwhile?
October 15, 2025 at 3:52 PM
I totally agree with that view. Western democracies are backsliding quickly with a few exceptions, but I would argue that China isn't going forward. Yes, they are developing faster economically, but the Xi Jinping administration has reduced liberties compared to the previous one.

You have thousands of injured citizens at the hands of the Chinese government, sometimes due to the use of live ammo. I could also mention freedom of speech in general with a few examples but I'm sure you get the idea
October 15, 2025 at 2:36 PM
But to argue your point directly, US citizens typically enjoy the ability to criticize their government (see the "no kings" protests). This isn't something available to Chinese citizens. Even without mentioning things like the T square event from 89, you can just look at 2019 in Hong Kong

While I can't deny that these are real problems (although I didn't view the ability to consume all products from all countries as a fundamental freedom...), I think your point would be more applicable if you would compare the US to another country that doesn't have as many freedom issues as China
October 15, 2025 at 2:28 PM
I'm always surprised by your awe for China... You seem to rightfully criticize Trump's America while singing praise for China.
But, while that may change, the US is still a freer country than China.
How do you reconcile this?

It's a diss track targeting Neil Young's criticism of racism in Alabama, so yeah, very much tied white supremacy

Very tempting🤣

I'm pretty sure that's how the have is supposed to be played

The real question is "why is the Smithsonian not resisting?"

Hmmm, that's an interesting take. I guess most key locks are pretty easy to lockpick but of course 4-digit is also insecure. Which one is worse though...

Nah, realistically, they sell games (that's their product) and they have a mmo side for engagement to drive more sales. Still a great model regardless

EVs being better to drive is a subjective take. I personally find their extra weight an impediment to driving enjoyment. Everything is dull...
But I agree with the general sentiment of your thread.
