I know they get as small as 1l. Ironically for this, cheaper the better, the quality models have timers and such. The indian market models my mom has (220v) had don't, and probably with a few small changes (cooling fan?) would be perfect for this sorta thing

I'm sure one of the ones we've had was literally a 1/4 hp motor, with no thermal protections, wired via a switch to mains, powering the rotating drum :D

Its a bit of a staple amongst indian households. Its literally a 'modernised' version of a traditional stone mill - a disk of granite at a bottom of a straight sided container, that's spun, and a pair of fixed wheels. It heats up less, and crushes rather than rips. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet_gri...
