Word of mouth social media activism has to be one of the worst things ever.

I thought they were outright banning pornography on this platform because of all the uproar and Tumblr comparisons but no, they're just banning illustrated rape art.

They just added "illustrated" into the ToS. That's it.

I would really love to use this platform more often, I was one of the few people championing it early on, but...

It's so behind compared to other platforms. There is almost no work being done to improve it. *Maaaybe* when there's a big wave of users.

My submission for the Build Your Dune contest, Duke's Reach, a solo Atreides themed base!

A view of the front, on-foot entrance side of my base. The contrast is relatively high here, dark shadows and bright lights, as it's dawn and the sun is just rising. Another picture of my base, this time from a different angle, parallel to the cliffside behind it. This image was taken earlier in the morning, so the sun isn't up yet. Some lights can be seen dramatically lighting up portions of the base. The main ground vehicle garage is to the right, and production facilities to the left. Another picture of my base, also facing the garage but more directly now, during early daytime, with the sun almost fully up. My character is sitting on a chair on an outer sitting area, with a desk with books and a cup ontop, and a big vase on the ground nearby. There is an umbrella-like structure, but made of concrete and thicker, providing shade from the hot desert sun. Lastly, an areal picture of my base, taken with my Ornithopter, showing the base from a bird's eye view.

Loving the Nothing Phone 2a so far!

It has a general blue/gray theme going on, but most of the blue is from my old phone's camera being wonky. It has a very minimalist style, every app and widget is monochrome, at least in the home screen. Another picture of the front of the phone, but this time from an angle as it's on a phone stand. It's also displaying the "About Phone" section instead of the home screen. Some of the specs of the phone can be seen, as well as an image of the back of the phone next to the OS number. Some of the information reads: "Nothing OS 3.0 Device name Nothing Phone (2a) Processor MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro RAM 12GB + 2GB Battery 5000 mAh Camera Rear: 50MP IOS + 50MP (Ultra wide) Front: 32MP Storage 256 GB Screen 6.7" Flexible AMOLED A picture of the back of the phone, on a phone stand at an angle. It has two cameras in the middle with a soft camera bump that rises up in a soft slope. The color of it is "milk white" which essentially just looks like a softer white. The general design of it is very Teenage Engineering-esque, looking very industrial yet clean. It has a bunch of greebling on the back essentially, and a transparent plastic back that shows the intricate design work underneath, with some screws also visible. There is also a red square in the mid-right section of the phone that serves no purpose than just looks. A couple of the notable things in the look of it is a thick line that snakes up in a very geometric way, with a thinner line in the middle of it, which ends when it reaches the mid section of the phone. There is a circle around the camera bump that almost reaches the corners of the phone, and just on the edges of that circle are 3 LED strips, called the "Glyph Lights". These lights can light up for notifications, alarms, ringtones, or even just for show for stuff like a music visualizer that attempts to sync up to the music you're listening to. Overall, super nice n interesting looking phone IMHO, in a sea of single color rectangles with gigantic camera bumps. Another shot of the back of the phone, but this time with it laying flat on a surface. Same description as the image before applies.

There *is* something called "winapps-org" which runs a light weight Windows VM in the background and adds every app in that VM as if it's a real app, on Linux. When you launch it, it launches it in its own window instead of an entire VM.

Looks super cool, but also super cursed, lol.

Compared the year old version of my model to the latest one, looking way better! Finally starting to feel happy with it!

The eye itself is also angled so it doesn't look weird from the side.

Two PMs from deleted bot accounts, one of yhem saying “How are you doing?” and the other one being “Hey there”. Another pair of bots in PMs, one of them is asking me if I have PayPal or CashApp, and the other one has a message last sent from me that reads “That’s great :D”. I think I was fucking around with the last one lol.

Like it goes out of its way to check the fucking *SIM* too. Not even bans here do that, and I live in a country where apps get banned 24/7. Hell I need a VPN to use Discord alone.

ByteDance really didn't have to go to these lengths.

When we remove the SIM card, the TikTok app fails to identify Indian users from the SIM card, and when we use VPNs, the IP address changes, and it no longer belongs to the Indian IP range. Thus, TikTok again fails to identify that the user is accessing from India. This is how we bypass the filtering.”"

Just decided to check Google Search Trends for "VPN" worldwide and the spikes perfectly line-up with the whole TikTok ban timeline.
