I had the great pleasure of meeting him - 5 years to the day - before he died. (I know bc I’d decided that - for my birthday - I wanted to make the 5 hour drive with my sister to Plains; to hear him teach Sunday school, which he regularly did before he went into Hospice.)
It was a memorable day !

But, IF ONLY Sirhan Sirhan hadn’t robbed us all of one of the best candidates this country’s ever produced … my efforts would not have been in vain.

I confess that for quite some time I didn’t even know it WAS a cover, (which put Jimi’s version at a slight disadvantage), but — for me — Sting’s soaring vocals easily win out on ”Little Wing.”

What still sticks in my craw are the NINETY-SIX MILLION who didn’t bother to exercise their franchise AT ALL !!
I hope, at least, that a large portion will see what we got as a result of so many staying home — and will never do it again.
