Happy Black History Month!

In New Orleans, Black history is OUR history. Black New Orleanians have always been at the epicenter of what makes this city so special, and it’s our duty to keep this legacy alive. #BHM ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

Dr. King planted seeds knowing he might never live to see the fruit, and today we are standing in the shade of a tree built by sacrifice, courage, and persistence.

His legacy didn’t grow overnight, and it isn’t guaranteed to survive without care.

As the first day of 2026 comes to an end, I want to pause and remember the 14 lives that were tragically lost just one year ago. My prayers are with the victims' families and the City of New Orleans as we continue to heal. 🕊️

WOW!💥 Thanks to your kind efforts, our Holiday Food Drive collected over 2000 pounds of food for families in need during this holiday season.

I'm grateful to the N.O. Food Policy Council for partnering with us, and Sprout NOLA who helped distribute food directly to families.

Yesterday was a good day with @nola.grown and @nordcommission at The Reboot🕹️

We played some #MarvelVSCapCom2 and 27 guns were taken off the streets. Events like The Reboot show what’s possible when we address our generational problems with creativity and community. Guns down, controllers up! 🎮

In partnership with local community and faith leaders, the @nolacitycouncil called on federal immigration forces to ensure the dignity and rights of every individual and to be transparent about their operations here in New Orleans.

Tomorrow is Election Day, and we have an opportunity to push our city forward in a major way. Here are my recommendations for tomorrow's ballot:

💥 Aimee McCarron for District A
💥Jason Hughes for District E
💥Darren Lombard for Clerk of Criminal Court

New Orleans, you need to head back to the polls one more time!

There are 3 bond propositions on the ballot that fund projects across the city for affordable housing, infrastructure, and drainage and stormwater management. Most importantly, if passed, your taxes will NOT go up.
