On Nov 7, 2025, the Sub-Group on Migration (STG-8) led by STATAFRIC held its second meeting of the year, bringing together member states and partners. Key discussions: updated guidelines, standardized data collection, and 2025-2026 action plan.

Last week, I was part of the Statistics Sweden delegation on a successful visit to ECOWAS in Abuja. We discussed progress on the migration statistics project funded by Sida and explored joint support for ECOWAS and Member States through FMM West Africa II, funded by the EU. Success!

Attended the Regional Forum in Morocco on combating trafficking in persons, organized by @iom.int _MENA. Key collaboration among North Africa was crucial. STATAFRIC's role is vital for harmonizing trafficking statistics. North Africa is setting a strong example!
