It may not be as overt as I suggested. You get State Governments with Republican Governors/Legislatures to fail to certify the election in a timely fashio due to "irregularities". The election doesn't get certified, wham-o jam-o, results negated.

I am not sure what will be left after 3 more years. The 2026 election will likely either be cancelled, or the results thrown out. Trump's cult will buy into the whole "It was stolen" bullshit a second time. What happens after that is anyone's guess.

And Congress is demonstrating it's lack of willingness to do their job and perform oversight on that agency. Or any other agency. This is our nation now. We had a chance to prevent this, and instead we have this.

Of all people, Homan talking about "hateful rhetoric" is some of the worst hypocrisy I've ever heard. He needs to go, and if there is a next administration, he needs to go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not colelct $200. As corrupt and bigotted as they come.

I wish I had your optimism. So much of history seems to be repeating itself. So many of the same events that occurred in 1934 in Germany. Only thing missing are the Reichstaf fire and Krystalnacht.

Elections have consequences. They voted for this. While I think it's despicable, they knew it was coming. They've been rooting for the demise of Obamacare ever since it was passed.

Congress will talk about this, and claim they want to do it, but when the time comes, it will fail to pass. Very few on either side of the aisle are willing to give up the firehose of money.
