Why? A great American novel. Dana is a 26 yr old Black woman in the 1970s who is pulled back in time to her great great great grandfather’s plantation in Maryland. To see her need to survive each trip back in time is PERSPECTIVE.

Why? Perspective of American Revolution-ish era women. I was not built for Martha’s time. Mother, wife, midwife to her community… but could only testify in court if her husband was present if not specifically about a birth. WTF?
