tldr agents.md is the way. with prompts that keep it updated along with the code. the better the spec the better the work. task size matters. project structure matters. experienced devs are able to write far more nuanced and unambiguous (or thoughtfully ambiguous) prompts. idiomatic code can help.

that game is ... effectively disturbing. usually i'm pretty unmoved by most horror but this one got me. i was psychologically tilted for a day or so.

so it'll be important to identify devs who want more than a vibe & a paycheck & cultivate progression (like they should now), but also in terms of the new tools at their disposal. they'll be used differently; "socratically" rather than like a search engine. that, or you end up in escher-lego hell.

projecting out a bit, the tools will eventually get good enough to transform the oblivious junior role into effectively code technician. the moment a dev is actually interested and not just vibing they're on the existing engineer track, albeit with great tools that are always available to learn more

i think junior devs coming up with this tech will fall into two buckets: 1) happy using it as a 3d printer for day-to-day shit that's already lego-ized in their codebase. imperfect but fine. productive enough. 2) juniors that want to know how everything works & graduate to making lego blocks.
