-they *can* be kicked out but it's become much more prevalent that they now know exactly which magic words they should/shouldn't say to get what they want without any hassle

American who recently moved to Canada here. This is the reality of what private health care looks like in the U.S.
I know Canada's system can be frustrating, but please understand it's SO much better than a private system. There is literally no upside.

Imagine paying for Netflix every month, and then paying when you watch the movie, and then getting another bill three months later because one of the actors isn’t signed with Netflix so you have to pay him directly.

I know Canada's system can be frustrating, but please understand it's SO much better than a private system. There is literally no upside.

A new term is needed for the value of holdings of the filthy rich. "Net worth" sounds too benign, implying virtue. "Net holdings" seems neutral enough.
