You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need
Name a protest movement that succeeded by alienating the people whose minds they were trying to change.

The environmental movement needs more people on its side in order to make things change. You don't win people over by making their lives more difficult.

Target polluters, not the public.

So we’ve got Oathkeepers as Sturmabteilung and ICE as the Schutzstaffel.

He likely saved the kid’s life and kept him from being gunned down by police. A no-brainier I’d say.

Tapping into the Fauci hate

Does this mean we can go back to calling it Honkey Bucket as well?

Jersey chiming in, for what it’s worth

I’m beginning to think that Vance is dense enough to bend light.

He probably doesn’t use it as he can’t see where his caddy drops his ball.

In a sheath, with a trug of vegetables
July 28, 2025 at 4:34 PM
I'd say the trug of vegetables would make the exercise of common sense quite a bit easier.

Disappointed with Rory on the line he tried to take re US growth.

Surely he understands that if all of a country's growth goes to the top 1% it doesn't matter how good that growth is.

If Musk walks into a bar the sum net worth of all the bar patrons goes up by billions, but no-one got any richer.

I'll bet he could sort out a Japanese knotweed problem pretty quickly

Hey, John Wick killed loads of guys with a pencil

It's the first line of the article, Kate!

"A man who had returned home from his allotment with a trug of vegetables and gardening tools strapped to his belt was arrested by armed police"
July 28, 2025 at 4:17 PM
They didn't even know what an allotment was! Couple of right bellends.
July 28, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Right?. You can't even open a bag of compost with it.

It's a trowel.
July 28, 2025 at 4:14 PM
In a sheath branded with a well known gardening tool company, and carry a load of other garden tools and no doubt a trug full of vegetables.

Utterly ridiculous. Get a grip on yourself
July 28, 2025 at 4:12 PM
Lol! Shall we start rounding up chefs next?
July 28, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Good thing he wasn't Brazilian or they would have shot him on sight.

The "massive blade" that another user mentioned is probably the single most useful tool a gardener could own. The police can have my Niwaki Hori Hori when they pry it from my cold dead soil-covered hands!

Why have all American shirts got chest pockets? Seems the only way (apart from custom made) to have a shirt without a chest pocket is to buy a shirt with a chest logo (eg. Polo).

What gives?

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that the Democrats don’t care if their guy is in there. It’s wrong no matter who does it.

For Republicans it’s ok if they do but not ok for the other side to do it.

It’s why they have no shame

Would be interesting to see a team by team breakdown of who lodges the highest number of appeals. I know who my money would be on.
