Father’s Day is usually a time to honor the dads. But I also want to take this moment to say how thankful I am to be one. The joy my son brings into my life is beyond words. I may not be perfect, but every day I strive to grow, and become a better father for my family.

I looked back at my son. I ask myself, “Anong uri ng Pilipinas ang iiwan ko para sa anak ko?” Tumindig at hindi na muling pipikit.

The Filipino struggle did not end in 1986 and our identity as a nation is continuously shaped by the able citizens of today, which I am now a part of.

I now realize that we remember what happened on this day and it’s not just to celebrate the collective triumph over dictatorship. More importantly, it reminds us of our responsibility as citizens.

The amazing thing about the reach of social media is that now we don’t just rely on official publications to gain a narrative on what happened during the Marcos years and the People Power Revolution. We get to read and hear first-hand experiences of those who went through the struggle.

But for now, I'll just post some bits of what I thought here.

I pondered on what Feb 25 means to me today and I tried writing about it. I realized I don't write as much and I couldn't articulate what I thought into an essay anymore. I need to practice writing again.

Bad knee cause me to stop jogging midway and just walk the route. I hope this isn't something serious.

I can't believe we have an electrical room in our house already. lol

Spent the day going to a wedding fair and I didn't expect how packed it was. That industry is booming.
