PS: We overthought a wedding from 2004 until we went to the DC Court House in 2016 following the first traumatic Presidential election. Also: one loud introvert and one extreme introvert, both judgmental don't make for a sparkling wedding couple.

It's not easy to remove someone from the SES by rescinding their appointment. There is, however, a lot of discretion in and ability to assign people with SES-appointments to different positions should there be issues with performance and conduct.

Buy your pasta rollers and cutters now. At least the US produces good semolina and Durham wheat flour.

Clarence Thomas has said publicly that he thinks Obergefell should be overturned and that precedent can be reconsidered. This is a bad-faith Supreme Court and almost anything is possible.

When a measure of "health" is revenue and profit for insurers and health care providers, you're doing it wrong.

This is why impeachment for cause and the 25th Amendment exist as remedies for criminal and incapacitated Presidents.
Sadly, our elected representatives and political appointees lack the courage, discernment, and will to apply them.

It's as corrupted as the Republicans, if marginally less evil.
Walking away from egalitarian principals and practices achieved through the hard work and sacrifice of many people doomed the Democratic Party, and very likely the constitutional republic we've had for 250 years.

I'm old enough to remember when both parties had skin in the game of making a better future. That ended with the Reagan Revolution and the party capture by the authoritarian right.
The Democrats' response? Find more money in politics and profit from it.
Neither democratic or egalitarian.

My contempt for and dislike of Dick Durbin is wide and deep. He is the model of a very corporatist Democrat, willing to sell out ideals for access and campaign donations, and keep partying like it's Bill and Hillary's second Inauguration.

"We can't make them angry by investigating and prosecuting ... Iran-Contra, Gulf War I, Silverado, Gulf War II, Enron, January 6 ... because we have to work with them day in and day out."
Maybe it's time you tried something different.
The arrogance is overwhelming.
