Yet the Irish government promotes antisemitism with its boycotts and denigrations of Israel. You can't have it both ways. Express your opposition to its policies (as I have done) but bring the temperature down.

I mentioned to a rabbi I revere and trust who still posts on X that he was supporting a virulent antisemite. "Would you have bought a Ford in the 1930s?" I asked him. No response yet.

What gives me hope for humanity is that the man who tackled and disarmed the Bondi murderer was a Muslim man named Ahmed al Ahmed. Braver than any MAGA cosplaying sheriff here in the US.

The one thing that gives me hope for humanity on this dark day is that the hero who disarmed one of the murderers was a Muslim man named Ahmed al Ahmed. Braver than any MAGA "good-guy-with-a-gun" here in the US.

Dan, I was wondering here in the US if Baxter was anything like the variety stars we had in the 1970s, like Jackie Gleason and Carol Burnett. They sang and danced (passably), acted in sketches, but never were really "actors." They had smash TV shows and many specials.

These are not the kumbaya left-wing Jewish socialists of the '40s and 50s come to "make the desert bloom." These are Sephardim from the Middle East and North Africa whose families were killed or exiled by their Arab neighbors, and now they're out for revenge, not justice. It's not the county I knew.
