It can use Openrouter or local LLMs like ollama - it says lm_studio but I couldn't get that working. I'm sure it will support any Openai compatible interface.

You can ask it for code and it will give it to you and save it to a file, AND, if you like, initialize a git repo and commit it with a "sensible commit message". Check it out if that sounds like your jam:

If you do a lot of coding, check out windsurf from codeium. It's a bespoke build of vscode and you can allow the AI to actually edit files build artifacts too. It's still "working through it" but it's overall awesome.

I have tried to build a code generation process but the magic has thus far evaded me (ie, provide requirements, and it builds, tests, and debugs until it meets requirements). I have it working for singly python or go functions tho!

Oh, I've been using 'em for coding for some time. I've gotten some stuff pretty well sorted - I use Codeium and Claude mostly. I built a "storage box manager" in go and react and I bet I wrote maybe 5% of the code. LOL.

Like "What if I have X happen to Character Y at time Z?" And it said "That's an interesting twist. You could expore A, B, and C implications and build dynamic tension with D complication!"
Overall, I highly recommend this use case to writers. Fun stuff, and no "write this for me".

I asked it if there were areas I should expand on and it gave me six, and five of them were *very good*. It's maybe a bit too positive in tone but overall it was SUPER impressive and useful, even for brainstorming!

The result was *impressive*. I uploaded my nascent novel to Claude's "project" folder and asked it questions. I asked it to check continuity - and it did! I asked it to check for consistent character descriptions and it found two errors.

But a big problem I have is that I'm not a very good self-editor - I mean, shit, I said it that way because it seemed right and reading it again ain't gonna make me think it wasn't. I need some feedback.
