The reason I ask is that it's a perfect Trumpian double move to 1) "give" a bonus that's actually coming from money many military members would already receive and 2) create a bigger tax liability for them by doing so.

Was the housing supplement taxable? I've never been military but I know a lot of people who have.

Absolutely. We (spouse and I) were tipped off to it when staying in central London on an overseas teaching gig I had in 2016. A local guide that taught the students about the history of London via walking tours mentioned we should check it out—it was only a few blocks from our flat.

Absolute all-time favorite of mine. Gorgeous, uplifting and soothing.
And as a bonus, it's one of the best-sounding records I've every owned (I have only the original vinyl, which still sounds great--never heard a CD or remastered version).
