Intro for new followers: I'm a long-time (i.e. old) Python and Web developer. Now mostly apply that to digital humanities and corpus linguistics with focus on historical languages (especially Ancient Greek) and Tolkien. Also education, data visualization, music theory, and a handful of other things.

and so Ryland 0.15.0 is now released with an Obsidian-specific markdown processor :-)

Dropping the extension was the right thing to do as the Python-Markdown people say it’s that extensions that’s misbehaving. It was honestly just a few lines to do it myself.

Just wait for my reading environment plans 😀

The root cause of the issue is that the (external) full_yaml_metadata extension breaks the (built-in) wikilinks extension. Given how simple the external extension is, I might be best off just not using it and have Ryland handle yaml frontmatter itself.

already had to file an issue with Python-Markdown :-)

We currently plan to distinguish up to six types of passages. The primary texts (in the larger font) we call P-texts. When Christopher gives fragments in a smaller font we call them S-texts. We distinguish quotations of P-texts from S-texts giving alternative readings. Plus other distinctions.

Not sure how manual your counting was but you may be interested to know I’m working on indexing/search of BLT that will distinguish Tolkien and Christopher. Announcement on 27th.

Only a terrible human being would phone Loeb in the middle of the night pretending to be the Nobel committee and tell him they can’t give him the Physics prize because the aliens won’t let them.

And fun fact: the first post on that blog is about you 😀

That’s why I said “icky” rather than make any specific allegations.

Other biographies like Gribbin’s apparently discuss but I don’t know if he only source was Moore. A lot of references I’ve read are to www.irishtimes.com/life-and-sty... which quotes both Moore and Gribbin. It led to TCD renaming things so it seems to have been taken seriously.

Schrödinger was pretty icky even then so I'm hoping for not much association tbh
