As a scrawny 49 year old guy, I'm sure they'd see me as a target too. It's white guys their own size or bigger that they cower to. It's the bully mindset.

I have reached out to women in my life to see what I should learn from this experience. I very much don’t not want to be sexist or a misogynist. I thought I was describing the world that I see: that a large part of society values youthfulness in women. Not deleting any of this as a lesson.

You aren't wrong in having that take. Females are valued by their looks by many people (not necessarily just by men--but by many, many men, definitely) and younger adulthood is the preference.
