8 games into his career, playing solid football against a poor defense…maybe a little bit above that standard, which is a reasonable place to be.

Yeah I saw that somewhere too. He still is missing throws that it seems he will get better on but it seems like he is getting it.

Can we say yet that 6 or 7 games is too small a sample size to judge a NFL QB? That was fun.

That last one he needed to catch. He has not adjusted to the fastball. And yes, JJ needs to k ow that he doesn’t always have to throw it, but JJetas needs to save him there, doesn’t he? Glad it didn’t matter?

Hmmmmmm

Are McCarthy takes next?

That is the part, to me, where the draft failures have been most damning and remains the glaring hole. Need CBs.

So do you know how much those folks improved in year two? Is that when we will know for sure?
November 16, 2025 at 10:17 PM
I did not try to dig deep but isn’t he comparable to other first year QBs in accuracy? Looked at Josh Allen and Caleb Williams and did not seem that different.
November 16, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Five games….I think it is way too early still.
November 16, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Agreed. Just so many examples of how bad the first year can be.
November 16, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Comparing him to other first year QBs the past few years, his rate seems in the same range so far but unquestionably worse today. Is it that surprising he is having these struggles in his first season? Seems like some folks are way too early in the busy talk…doesn’t mean he won’t be but premature.
November 16, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Absolutely spot on. What I see is the underlying abilities, both physical and mental, but he has not played the programs enough to process it all. How many QBs truly look amazing end to end 3 games into their playing careers? Pretty much zero? He keeps progressing and that is still the key.

Maybe one step further.....the real measuring stick will be after game 4 of NEXT season....Feels like that is when we will know if we have something....but even then we may not know if we don't because we have seen too many QBs continue to progress....

To me, the calculus is pretty simple. To your well made point, Wentz has not been other-worldly, so if the young one is healthy you play him. If not, sit him. This seems to set up perfect for a long session of being healthy before the game after the mini-bye. Easy decision.

This kid seems to be about resilience. He has been in control the whole game, just making far fewer mistakes now…
September 9, 2025 at 3:18 AM
That is the story behind the story
September 9, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Horrible decision…but honestly not all that surprising on a night where his LT is a sieve and he sees sellout blitz coming.
September 9, 2025 at 2:11 AM
Just so ridiculous. LT is a disaster tonight, no one should be surprised that the kid is making these kinds of mistakes.
