This is the first I heard he died - glad to hear it from someone touched by his work. So many mind-blowing plays: Jumpers, Travesties, The Real Thing, Arcadia. And the screenplays, including Shakespeare in Love, but the jewel was his script for Brazil! May have to watch it today and weep/laugh. 💙

Sure, it hits differently as you age, but I’ve vibed with this play for over 50 years. Kids experience the human condition, too.

I’m no fan of Jeffries, but I truly don’t understand why he couldn’t have said the exact same thing, but instead of beginning with “no,” begin it with ”yes and” - making the same point about the Congress and Senate. First rule of inclusivity, not just the first rule of improv. SMH

Do you mean to say that the brilliant playwright who wrote Aunt Dan and Lemon, The Fever, and The Designated Mourner, also did some acting?😉
