I know it’s used. I worked as a reporter in Boston for many years. But I also worked in Portland OR which has a similar but more artful plaza called Pioneer Courthouse Square. It’s called the city’s living room. The contrast is striking.

These sure have changed since I was a kid. Back then, they were religious pictures and when you opened the windows, it told you a chore to do. Do something nice for your sister, etc.

The Sand Creek Massacre happened on this date (11/29) in 1864. The Third Colorado Cavalry killed and injured 150 to 600 peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho Native Americans, including Cheyenne Chief One Eye. They were perceived as a threat to white settlers.

President Kennedy was assassinated 62 years ago today. It was so shocking. My parents took us to church that night and it was full even though there were no services. A priest came out and led us in the rosary.
