My (Jewish) grandparents met in Karlovy Vary, probably about 18 months before it was annexed by Nazi Germany, and when I learned the date I thought, 'What the fuck were they thinking?'

I'm thinking that a lot these days.

Sadly, I suspect it's many of the blue border towns -- towns in Washington and Maine are particularly suffering, I hear.

But yes, next year's numbers will be really interesting. I mean, who doesn't want to go and be kidnapped off the street, or shot in the face?
