The women’s liberation movement was in full swing when I created this sculpture “Liberated Woman.” The woman’s body swivels freely, unrestrained, while the lower torso remains grounded in her roles as mother, wife and career woman. See video.

My life size sculpture “Choices: The Man/Woman Thing” explores how a woman can decide each day what type of person she will be to achieve her goals. Will she be more aggressive and masculine? Or use femininity. She selects choices as if from a clothes rack.

In “Sisters,” I tried to capture the complex bond between two individuals who know each other more intimately than any other. . They share space, compete for parental affection, yet lean in to each other. They look alike but act independently. #sisters #judithpeck #sculpture #figurativeart

I am pleased that my sculpture “One Man in Memory of Six Million” which is on permanent display at Rampo College of New Jersey, has been brightened and enhanced by the conservator, Monument-Conservation Partners. See videos below for more.

I’ve chosen to portray the feeling of music in this bronze sculpture using a woman’s body in motion. Music and sculpture share a vocabulary: the rhythm of the curves, the tempo of the action and the change in movement. The sculpture crescendos, tapers and swirls to form a whole experience.

A figure sprawls on a bench. Is he a worker on break or an unhoused man finding refuge? He is exhausted, that we see, enfolding the chair like an embrace. A rat at his feet regards him. It could be a comfort or a threat, like everything faced beyond the enclave of the bench. #workingclass #bronzeart

“For Peace” is a sculpture of personal importance for the reasons described in this video. Created during the Vietnam war, it also expresses my anger about war and human sacrifice, resonating today with two wars raging. #judithpeck #forpeace #bronzesculpture #stopwar #artforpeace

In this sculpture, “Sunday Times,” a man and woman share opinions about the news, side by side in an intimate setting, each equal in the value of their thoughts, feeling free to share and receive them. For me, personally, this is a dreamscape not real. #fineart #bronzesculpture #figurativeart

The video below explains what inspired my sculpture of three ladies seated on a bench in a sauna. I was amused by the  shapes of  bodies and head wraps, the unique  formation of bosoms and bellies—my own included. The exquisite assemblage was a sculpture that I rushed home to fabricate.

"Naked Ladies on Bali Chairs" is a sculpture in bronze in which two women, comfortable with their physicality, are seated at ease in magnificent chairs that cradle and echo their forms. This piece conveys how the feminine body is psychological and sensual in rest as well as movement. #figurativeart

Having taught art courses to undergraduates for years, I’ve glimpsed their creativity, energy and humor as well as their anxiety (which sometimes fuels their productivity). Graduation, with the future unknown and so much left to do to finish can be more stress than celebration.

My sculpture "Woman with Shoes Off" shares the experience of a working mom coming home. Everything from the woman’s cockeyed hat and skewed hair to the ragged tilt of her arms, body, legs and feet declares her weariness.  She’s got one shoe off but one’s still standing. Now on to making dinner.

My bronze table sculptures, “Job” and “Reclining Woman” were first created in clay, each with benefit of a live model. Job was inspired by the tormented biblical character falsely advised. Reclining Woman celebrates the female form being comfortable with her body.

Hi, I’m pleased to join Bluesky and share my work. Here's a short video about my sculpture Herzog inspired by Saul Bellow’s novel. Carved in walnut, later cast in bronze, the figure’s slouching posture with powerful hands conveys a defeatism toward life contrasted with an inner energy to strive.
