Went for a fantastic hike in the Hornstrandir Nature Preserve near the Arctic Circle yesterday. A day to remember.
A broad river bed with grey wet sand and golden grass on the bank leading out to the fjord. Grey clouds with a thin layer allowing white light through. A wooden post with four wooden Arrows pointing to various paths. The one we were headed to was the ferry. The sign is set in wild grasses greens, golds, orange tones leading out to the water. A small waterfall along a river cutting through a meadow with a rounded hill in the background on a grey sky dAy. Green wild grass fading into light pink grasses rounding down a slope. There are houses on the far edge of the hill facing the fjord and the other side of the fjord with mountains touching the grey and white clouds in the background.

Thinking of all the beauty and richness I experienced growing up in California and all of the friends and family I still have there. My heart goes out to my childhood friend and her family who lost their home to fire this week.

Climbing Island peak
