I hate how since it was following Twilight, they replicated the Team Peeta vs Gale thing, made the Hanging Tree song a sensational club remix, and threw it in with other YA novels which completely ignored the messaging altogether. It's so sad... but going back to it as an adult is CRAZY

Its frustrating bc the books are INCREDIBLE- very sophisticated amd especially relevant with great theming. But the fact it was a YA novel + the movie marketing and fans pushing it AS just a YA novel- focusing on the love interests and competition made everything go over ppl's heads.

Yes she tampered with the appearance of the Kairi charm as well but that doesn't mean that the charm has to be the same as the memory! Sora has no memory of the necklace being given to him so she can just lie and say that it was the star charm and change the Kairi charm to prove it

I talked about it with friends but the reason i think it's cool as shit is bc it's rly cool to have the secondary character go thru this whole gay resistance/acceptance character arc that's very elaborately set up that both Sora AND the player arent immediately privy to. its always been gay chat!

It's a detail overlooked by the fandom tbh. The game leads you to believe all of the fake memories Namine self-inserted herself into are to be Kairi. But it alludes to just how important Riku's feelings for Sora are that seems to be churning in the background of every game

It definitely makes sense bc the developer files for Oblivion and Oathkeeper are "Riku Keyblade" and "Kairi Keyblade". This is confirmed by Oathkeeper's keychain being Kairi's lucky charm she gives to Sora- so why does Oblivion- which supposedly represents Riku- have a crown keychain? Well. 😇

Namine says that she cannot erase or create fake memories. so the memory of Sora being gifted something and being told "I'll always be there to protect you" is REAL. And, Rikuplica had the same memory of that event after Namine messes with him- whose memories are directly from the real Riku

tl;dr the crown necklace sora wears is a gift from riku during the meteor shower mentioned in chain of memories that namine tampered with, not kairi because the meteor shower should've took place BEFORE she came to the island. explains why the keychain for Oblivion- which represents Riku- is a crown
