Saw an impro show in London and it was fun to see the micro-interactions of performers who were not in a scene at the moment. Very recognizable from larp, like the moment when the performer re-positions themselves for the next scene after coming up with an idea.

Alleys are a genre fiction staple but not at all a standard urban feature. My hometown Helsinki barely has any. New York has just a few. But Manchester has been very rich in alleys!

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

At least in our group, everyone intuitively checked that others have had a chance to act before making another combat action. I don't know if the game suggests doing this, but for us it was automatic gamer politeness.

It felt like it was designed so that the person with the cool idea could implement it immediately, without having to wait for mandatory actions to pass.

This works great when everyone is socially capable and has cool ideas.

Had a chance to play Daggerheart's quickstart yesterday, and it was super interesting. The way the combat round had been discarded and replaced by a freeform method where the order of action was determined on the fly was fun and intuitive.

Text: I’m trying to write steamy romance, not a self-help book on conscious breathing.

Every time the story’s about to get physical, the AI derails into something like: “They paused to reflect on their emotional journey and honor the connection between their bodies.”

Like… NO. That’s not what we were building up to.

Yesterday, the characters stopped mid flirt to recommend deep breathing exercises and partner yoga. It’s like the AI turns into a wellness coach the moment the tension peaks.

Anyone else run into this? How do you keep the AI from shifting tone so hard? Looking for tools or strategies that actually let the heat build without detouring through a spiritual retreat.

A PhD, especially one with archival, observational, or observational components, will definitely convince you that you know next to nothing, thanks to the available resources & one's predecessors.
