It’s been 10 years since the Criminal Justice and Courts Act gave courts power to dismiss claims if a claimant is deemed ‘fundamentally dishonest’. Some defendant lawyers misuse this, making false allegations to scare injured people out of pursuing the compensation they need.

Whether the amount is £1,000 or £1 million, compensation is never a 'win' or a prize. It is precisely calculated to meet an injured person’s practical needs, often for the rest of that person’s life, as well as the pain and suffering caused - no more, no less.
