Former Crater Lake National Park Superintendent, Kevin Heatley, says it out loud: Staff are being put in harm's way because of the anxiety and stress [from OPM, DOGE, RIFs]. The stress itself will get staff killed with psychological and physiological impacts.

One can't work with auch anxiety every day. I'm glad our paths crossed, and thank you Kevin for your service to the American people and our National Parks.

Pope Francis last year on those who deny climate science:

"There are people who are foolish, and even foolish if they show you them research. They don't believe it…They don't understand the situation or because of their interest, but climate change exists."

I'm devastated and heartbroken. Staff at the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) got the ax. Most likely means the Sixth National Climate Assessment (NCA6) is also cooked. USGCRP was the glue across the Federal family on all things climate - reducing duplication and making efficiencies.

Thanks friend! I think I saw your name on some NOAA climate meeting - let me know if you're in DC again and we should catch up! :)

In the past five months, I've learned a lot at the Bureau of Land Management, and hope to continue integrating climate science and adaptation into our workflows! I like to say that the BLM is a superuser of climate information and services - we need actionable, decision-relevant information!

It was an honor of a lifetime to advance an important Administration priority on actionable climate services. Together, we built a cohesive and strategic climate services enterprise to ultimately reduce burden on users to find, access, and use climate data, tools, and technical assistance.

Hi friends, I haven't checked this platform in quite some time, and lots has happened ... but in professional news, I finished my detail with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and started a new role with the Bureau of Land Management!

As an author on the Northwest chapter, I'm really proud of the agricultural risk management perspectives I brought. Also so proud of the 300+ authors who spent years on this preeminent source of climate information.

Gotta prep for the Midwest Climate Resilience Conference. And Duluth does not disappoint.

In our roundtable, we heard from practitioners from around the Nation their perspectives on knowledge co-production and technical assistance, and how the fed govt can better bolster efforts across all sectors and scales. Also, it was great to celebrate this accomplishment with colleagues!
