My child and I play a video game called Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. I have repeatedly (albeit accidentally) referred to it as Love in the Time of Cholera because of this book!

I do this to my husband as he plays video games, too. “Why are you killing them? Have you tried talking to them first? Maybe they’re just having a bad day and need a friend.”

I loved House of the Spirits too, but I haven’t read In the Midst of Winter yet. What I loved about this one was the story of the awakening of a sheltered girl to the reality of the world around her and how much that cost her, and that it came from a beautiful love story.

Oh, I hadn’t heard of the podcast. Thank you for the recommendation!
