I like this point from Dr. Emma. It makes a lot of sense that we shouldn’t just look at the environmental impact of food by weight or volume, but also consider the nutrients it provides. Makes me think about how I choose foods and how important it is to look at both health and environmental impact.
I'm hosting a panel for The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology today to close the Sustainable Food Systems Symposium.

Sustainability (environmental, economic, or otherwise) needs to consider the nutrient content of foods, not just the weight or volume produced.

Something that stood out to me from the readings is that headlines can make small studies seem like big discoveries. Just because an article says something works doesn’t mean it’s proven. It makes me want to check how many people were in the study and how it was done. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

My major is Dental Hygiene class of 2028. I am taking this course because I needed an elective for this semester. I am curious about how nutrition affects oral health. A word I associate with healthy eating is probably balance. My favorite food is pasta, and brazilian food. @beh353 #beh353
