Okay, hail mary: @rkr.bsky.social I just read your book and would like to talk to you about a NZ coming of age story that you may find to be colonial (also, I don't trust Beatrix, that was triggering) -- would you let me DM you. I can't write on your arm with a Sharpie, alas.

I'm a little overwhelmed that I can talk to pretty much anyone here. Pleasantly? Pleasantly whelmed over. Like a bowl that's been stacked in a cozy place.

Just found this photo of my dad's notes from a college course, on Black Heroes. This would have been sometime between 1963-1967.

Seems like someone should start a take out fund for @bsky.app employees. Or coffee. They must be working nonstop.

(And by someone, I mean, clearly, yes, I could but I'd have to learn how first. Shouldn't a public commons act like a marketplace for skills? Hey you, digital natives! Hey!!!)

Sometimes I forget that I can simply watch Star Trek when I need hope about humanity.

I've been running in the mornings after walking 7yo to school and TWO DAYS IN A ROW I have seen the moon in a sunny sky crowned by a huge rainbow at 7:40AM. It's like . . . it's like . . . beautiful shit goes on that has simply nothing to do with us.
