Well, I guess we’re going to find out if Smoot-Hawley works in a 21st century global economy. The market is betting against it.

It is dire that many people running the government do not know the basics of the law, or pretend not to.

It is not a crime to remind people of their rights—which unlawful immigrants are also entitled to under the Constitution. The truth matters, no matter how politically inconvenient.
