How do you make a scientific image more understandable?
To illustrate Églantine Heude's research from @mnhn.fr , I used 3D reconstruction images to better visualise the mesodermal origins of the muscles connecting the neck to the head.
It's easier to visualise, don't you think?

Illustrations I made in collaboration with Eglantine Heude from @mnhn.fr for her paper in @nature.com Communications.
I start with illustrations of zebrafish embryos at the 1dpf and 5dpf stages with a stylised line. What do you think? It's a bit of a change from the classic illustrations, isn't it?

First publication on Bluesky with my first artwork!
8 years ago, I had created the cover for Developmental Cell, illustrating my PhD research in developmental biology. This project remains a key moment in my career, even though the cover wasn’t selected (my paper was published elsewhere).
