Writer. Top 100 Bath Novel Prize 2025 Likes walking and pottering in the garden.
Why, when I moved to Bluesky to avoid American politics, when I have only followed writers and artists, is my time line full of American politics? I can read newspapers and watch TV for all that stuff. I don’t ‘like’ that stuff, so why is the algorithm pushing it on me?

#traitors who do you want to see on the next one? My son wants David Attenborough. I’d like Lee Mack. Or Brian cox.

7:30 and settling down to work in the blissful coolness of the dew soaked garden. Feeling immense gratitude.

I was thrilled to see this in my in box this morning, having seen early drafts in our MMU workshops. I can’t wait to read the full and final version! Congratulations Maya on your publication!

Nice walk on the fell. A cement factory has been there since the Middle Ages- not quite so big and industrial - but there have been lime kilns since the Norman’s built a castle in Clitheroe

Day whatever. But this is the absolute bees knees of writing craft books. Disclaimer: In my opinion. No bees were harmed in the generation of this comment. #writing

There’s no such thing as a bad writing day. You might think it’s a bad one if your novel isn’t working and you end up scrubbing the grout in the shower with a toothbrush. But the next day, brain is ready to work and the bathroom is sparkling. All good.😁

I have mixed feelings about this- do authors get paid?
Does everyone know about Project Gutenberg? E-books for free. The world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for free. Digitized and diligently proofread by thousands of volunteers.

Please share.

I quite like this ‘choose 20 books’ thing that’s going on. It’s nice to see who chooses books I would choose. So here we go, the first of my 20 books

Geek alert. I have recently discovered that the British library has an outpost in Yorkshire! Planning a trip to get my FREE readers pass and to do some research for a planned project. Is it normal to be this excited about a trip to a Library?

Revived the account. Stephen King has left the other place. I know which tribe I want to be in.
