Today, I observed the signing of a financing agreement between my government and the European Union for the "Sustainable Food and Agricultural Value Chains Development" initiative. This is a significant step for our Feed Salone flagship program.

I have arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for the Africa Energy Summit. I will join fellow Heads of State and partners to elevate Mission 300, which aims to provide energy for Africa as we transition to clean energy.

Today, I departed Sierra Leone upon the invitation of President-elect H.E John Dramani Mahama, to attend his inauguration ceremony in Accra, Ghana.

I will join fellow Heads of State and other international dignitaries for the inauguration ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 7th January 2025.

In Mattru Jong, Bonthe District, I inaugurated the District Cold Chain Facility and the National Emergency Medical Services.
These initiatives will significantly improve immunization efforts and strengthen ambulance services in the district, ensuring high-quality health care for the district.

Today, I officially opened the elegant Bo Homecoming Festival in Bo. Fatima and I were thrilled to witness the rich cultural displays from the Bo district and across the country.

We have made significant progress in the health sector, successfully reducing maternal mortality rates by over 60%. As part of our commitment to women's health, I inaugurated the first fully equipped midwifery school in Kenema. This facility also includes a radio station.

Today, I presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the new Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq.

I congratulated him on his assumption of office and underscored the importance of accelerating our ongoing reforms in legislation and the Justice Sector.

I received letters of credence from the ambassadors of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Her Excellency Madam Rasha Soliman Mohi EIDin Soliman, the Republic of Guinea, His Excellency Mr. Julien Yombouno, and the Kingdom of Belgium, Her Excellency Mrs. Carole Van Eyll, at State House, Sierra Leone.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Lansana Sheriff, who was fondly known as Steady Bongo.

This is a significant loss for Sierra Leone. Steady touched many lives through his music, and he will be remembered for his educational and thought-provoking songs.
