I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?
Donald Trump Truth Social Post: Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also.

5h run time sounds great, and if they can do something similar to supercharging in cars, they should be able to get back to 80% charge in basically no time.

Yeah, though I think doing some Kuka-based prototyping goes against the whole idea of creating a single new and cheap super general purpose platform with end-to-end AI. And the human-like hands are going to be one of the most important bits. It would be seen as a dead end.

*mass production potential (driving costs down)

What do I know, but what the companies behind humanoid bots are saying: Kuka and similar robots are orders of magnitude more expensive than the prices they are targeting for humanoids. Reasons are e.g. massive production potential as well as lower tolerances needed due to AI learning+compensating.

That said, a few different form factors (like wheels instead of legs) will surely still make sense in the long run as an optimization...
juliusv.com
And if you produce a single form factor only, you can make billions of the same model, get to incredible economies of scale, and have them do almost everything.

The premise of the humanoid form factor is that the fixed cost for each new form factor is higher than people would think, and the humanoid form is the one that's adaptable to the largest number of problems, since the world was built for humans. If that calculus ends up being correct, we will see...

That's impressive. Would be interesting to know some stats around durability + regularly required maintenance and parts replacements.

The substrate seems to be a fine (nylon?) mesh in a frame, so maybe it would be transportable?

I'd be a bit worried about dust accumulation though if it's on the wall for a long time, unless you cover it up somehow.

I actually just felt sad for the guy? Like what happened to him as a child that would make him think that fame would be something to strive for 😥 That's not really an accusation, more feeling sorry. Can't speak to the allegations of the various scams and abuses that are alleged.
juliusv.com
I just find it sad that fame and a million subscribers are the goal in itself, rather than just being the byproduct of doing something valuable. If someone just wants to be famous for the sake of it...

I guess purely AI-generated content could still be interesting if it's useful in some other way, like teaching you something well. But it loses the whole social / human aspect of why people go to social media today.
juliusv.com
TikTok is different. It's still humans producing the content, or at least being part of it. That feels like you're not just interfacing with 1s and 0s. But maybe that's just me, I also much prefer human-generated content in video games, rather procedurally generated content for that reason.
juliusv.com
Would it know and be able to provide an accurate assessment though? Unless it's a thinking model analyzing its own previous thought processes that are still in the context?
juliusv.com
Not sure I understand?
juliusv.com
Will it though? I can't imagine anything more boring or pointless than scrolling through meaningless AI-generated content that doesn't have any human connection anymore.

How long do these status effects last, or is there a shrine you have to visit

Surreal moment for America. Needless to say, if the normal police ever pulled something like this — pulling every single person out of an apartment building and handcuffing them to run warrant checks — they would be sued into oblivion.

Yet ICE is going to get away with it entirely.
"It was scary, because I had never had a gun in my face," Fisher said. "They asked my name and my date of birth and asked me, did I have any warrants? And I told them, 'No, 'Ididn't."
Fisher said she was handcuffed before being released around 3 a.m., and she was told that if anyone had any kind of warrant out for them, even if it was unrelated to immigration, they would not be released.
