They’ve pretty much instantly killed it off, does that count?

When you've got a problem getting over the hump in the playoffs, and your solution is James Harden...

Truly the only good thing to come from that gas leak.

(But just actually use Norgaard, and maybe sprinkle in some MLS midfield minutes)

Not really like for like with Merino, but the name that immediately popped into my head was Ruben Neves (also don’t know how realistic a loan option that’d be).

I’m a little bit at the point of being so jaded with all the BS that comes with modern football, that I just want the games to be enjoyable. And as good as we obviously are…enjoyable is not the first word I’d use to describe our football this season.

‘after years of Arteta’s detail-oriented coaching, a group of players who now lack the ability to problem solve on their own.’

Thats the bit that really sticks with me. So often watching our football it feels like we’re just running through the same script over and over.

This hit really nicely on some of the feelings I’ve been wrestling with with this team. Good piece.

De Zerbi being a nutter and blowing his situation up is incredibly unsurprising. It's the one thing that gave me pause amidst what seemed like fairly universal excitement in sending Ethan to play for him.

Tbh I could go a little unserious Wengerball atm. Football generally is becoming an absolute chore to watch.
January 25, 2026 at 10:28 PM
The lack of killer instinct from this team when we get ahead in games is immensely frustrating.

As is the number of times our technical level with the ball just inexplicably falls off a cliff.
January 25, 2026 at 6:35 PM
Man that makes for grim reading. Bring back some unserious teams!
January 24, 2026 at 11:19 AM
Those shot/passing/touch numbers are straight up depressing. At the very base level, he’s just aesthetically an absolutely dreadful player to watch.
January 20, 2026 at 11:49 AM
It’s seeming fairly pointless either way tbh
January 18, 2026 at 12:09 PM
It’s understandable that Declan Rice is a very comfortable crutch to lean on, but the Norgaard signing seemed primarily cos Arteta wouldn’t trust a youngster in that backup spot, and now he barely trusts Norgaard there either. So what are we doing?
January 18, 2026 at 12:06 PM
Yeah I do think that feeling of kinda reading off the same script every week (especially on the ball) does not particularly float my boat.
January 18, 2026 at 11:45 AM
Tbh I struggle with this team a little bit. I love a lot of the individual players, like Arteta, we’re obviously very good…and the sum total of it just leaves me pretty cold.

Perhaps its just fatigue from a few seasons falling short and needing to get over the line, perhaps I’m just an idiot 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly, the more everything about sports is hyper fixated on winning at all costs, I just wanna have some fun 😂
January 18, 2026 at 11:33 AM
Genuinely curious Tim, do you know how this remit differs to the role she was already in at the club?
January 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM
He’s done exceptionally well to secure himself the payout on a 6 yr Chelsea contract. I respect it.
January 6, 2026 at 11:18 AM
Much respect to him for securing himself the inevitable huge payout.
January 6, 2026 at 11:07 AM
The world deserves to see Gareth Southgate try and manage Man Utd
January 5, 2026 at 12:28 PM
It was spectacularly bold of Amorim to try a power play given how shithouse his performance has been in the job. In partial defence of Maresca, I guess he at least had a couple of trophies to feed his delusions of grandeur.
January 5, 2026 at 12:09 PM
Both of them have pretty much just talked themselves out of their jobs in the end.
January 5, 2026 at 11:56 AM
West Ham seems like an incredibly appropriate club for the upcoming regression to the mean then.
