I appreciate controllers need some funky workarounds what with the limited real estate, but when I'm on my keyboard I wanna use all my keys.

Bonus points if the binding options are nice and granular. Every so often you play a game where there's one button that does a bunch of different things *contextually*, and then there's no way to bind those contextual actions to different inputs.

Shoutouts to KFC fries that have a lifespan of five minutes and cannot be reheated under any circumstances.

Quality is consistent though (at my particular location).

Also, little tip for anyone playing the demo while it's still live: you can play City Trial against CPUs if you create a match in a private Paddock.

I reckon it's more fun to play against real people, but it's nice to have options.

Estate and legacy stuff is always messy morally, legally, and emotionally, so you try to do the best you can.

But if we could (for the purposes of discussion) separate that out and say replication is chill (hypothetically), I think doing so with consent of the family is about as good as you can do morally. Can't exactly reach out to the deceased for comment.

Fair take. My problem is mostly with the using AI to copy someone's voice. Feels wrong hearing someone say things they didn't actually say, whether or not they've agreed to it.

Also had to re-type this 'cause I posted it instead of replying. Oops...

Addendum for context: part of their Star Wars event was a "voiced" Darth Vader companion that was trained on the voice of James Earl Jones. Reporting on it I saw at the time was pretty neutral (or positive) about it. :(
Fortnite Now Lets You Speak To Darth Vader With the AI-Generated Voice Of James Earl Jones
The late actor now lives on in Fortnite, with his family's consent.

I feel like Fortnite was designed in a lab to upset me specifically. Been wishing I could get my IRL mates to drop it for a while. Still peeved they used AI to puppet around a dead man's voice and everyone just kinda rolled with it.

(Almost a decade and a half watching stuff on this platform. Not absurd in the human scale, but several yonks in an internet one.) Happy Scary Day internet!

Teach them how to play the video games and you too can one day have that proud realization that they are a more skillful player than you (my nephew wallops me whenever we play Fortnite). Congrats! and well wishes. :)

Reading the announcement page, it *seems* like the answer is yes, with the caveat that you can't do 12 player multiplayer with mixed consoles. So probably best case scenario there.

Not sure if this was answered in the announcement video 'cause I was real sleepy when I watched it, but I am curious if NS-edition and NS2-edition players can do multiplayer together.

I think Sun Down Survivors was trying to be that, but I didn't vibe with it.

Update on this bit: I never removed system Wine when migrating to Flatpak Bottles. Oops. Mystery solved though.

Either way, time to hit send and see if my computer does a funky or not.

Loose dependency from something I installed at some point is what I'm assuming. Don't reckon it's a system package, and it's not in my install history, so *shrug*.

Still have to find a more elegant solution for shared ownership of files between container and host, but that's a problem for future me.
