The best episode so far!! 😭

I remember I was in 8th grade for the 2006 Turin Olympics, and after the opening ceremonies I had a clipping from my local newspaper of a picture showing the acrobats forming the dove of peace during the opening ceremonies hung in my locker for the rest of the year ❤️

But actually tearing up a bit rewatching the Renaissance section of those ceremonies… this is why I love Olympic opening ceremonies, it’s a country saying this is our culture and history as we want the world to see it. There maybe be problems, but no matter what it’s an often beautiful statement.

Honestly in 2006 the Italians said, “What if the opening ceremonies were very Italian, but also a little bit… goofy? 😉” and I love that for them.
