So sad that so many will do whatever a known pedophile asks for. And that so many children, and adults, will pay the price.

Add one more man to their total and it would barely budge.

Basically, trans people account for under 1% of mass shootings while being 0.5% to 1.5% of the population but with numbers so small statistical assurance is impossible.

That I did - factually.co/fact-checks/... - roughly 5 mass shootings since 2013. A tiny fraction of the overall total (2006-now is 556 male, 33 female). For transgender people, even 1 more or 1 less shooting can shift the % of population doing it drastically.
What percentage of mass shooters in the last 20 years ...
Executive summary Records compiled by major mass‑shooting databases show an overwhelming male majority among perpetrators over the last two decades: using...

Total baloney. With trans people there are so few of us (around 1% of the population) that a misreporting of even 1 or 2 could skyrocket our rate. Cis white conservative men are by far the most dangerous and do the most shootings stateside by a landslide. Someone needs to research why.

Sadly guns from the US flow up here, as does US media and attitudes. Really need more controls to keep that crap away to some degree, no idea how to do that though without stomping on peoples rights which would defeat the purpose imo.

Almost feel sorry for them. Their world is so small and sad isn't it? Now if they'd just keep their hate to themselves I actually could pity them.

I think a big part is they can't imagine why we'd go through all of this just to end up dating women. They have trouble understanding us at all, so thinking we were gay men who became women to get guys "works" in their minds. Pathetic imo.

Really. Under FPTP the rule is that we are voting for an individual not a party. Yeah, that person will vote 99.9% of the time with the party thus making it a bit of a joke. But in theory that is how it is.

To Republicans (and conservatives in general) money >>> ethics, life, children, you name it. Nothing matters more than accumulation of money. She has made that extremely clear.

Sad to hear. I had a decent relationship with my parents but never felt safe to be who I am with them. My Mom passed away in 22 and my Dad a year ago. That was the point I knew I had to transition. I wasn't going to die as a man, I wanted to live as a woman. So far 100% support from family.

You did say all off season that you can never have too much pitching and that it tends to sort itself out.

At the time it looked like we were weak in the power and OF areas and he was easily the best option left at the time (Soto being the ideal one, but that ended up being a pipe dream).

Santander made sense and his contract didn't look that bad then, but now... sigh. It happens. Not my $$$

And suddenly that rotation depth is almost gone. Depending, of course, on how long it takes Bieber to return. Still having Lauer at #6 and an assortment of AAA prospects for 7 and beyond isn't the worst situation we could have. Poor Francis though - out for 2026 and probably part of 2027.

Fingers crossed he will emerge as a mid-season callup or something. Love a good comeback story.

Good luck with the search!

Sadly, remembering where you were when 9-11 happened qualifies you as well over 25 now. Time flies.

I did a quick search - www.google.com/search?ie=UT... - lots of potential there, not sure which are free, but you could try searching and see if you might qualify without asking relatives first.

Pretty much, but might be too far back. Acadians are known for having fantastic paperwork so if you link up to them the proof should be fairly easy.

Agreed 100% - as a newly out transwoman I feel safe going to stores and coming out to family/friends. The worst I'm likely to get is stares and maybe a rude comment (none yet, but I know it is coming). I live in London, Ontario - for those who don't know about 1/2 a million here. Very open city.

FYI: nervous for nothing - the receptionist was sub 30 and totally non-issue with the name/gender change. You'd swear I just asked to switch which credit card I was using it was such a non-issue.
February 9, 2026 at 4:21 PM
Feeling very nervous as I head to the vet for my first 'public' time. But given how everything else has gone, I expect just a few odd stares and maybe a few odd questions but generally to be accepted and to move on. Prepared for worse - I know it'll come sometime.

I find it fun to imagine how some tech gets lost in an alternative time line that resulted in (put show name here). That a future could have amazing stuff, and lose things we enjoy today.
February 9, 2026 at 5:15 AM
As a just out transwoman - I agree 100%.
