Scooter wishes you a very happy birthday! His mama is a mini schnauzer, who was rescued. Scooter was born at the shelter, but when his ears stood up, the question “Who’s your daddy?” became relevant. He’s a good boy.

An immigration court recently opened next to the superior court in my neighborhood. I walk my little dog through the courthouse complex most days. One day I saw the guard when he was alone and asked him to be kind. We smile at each other every day now.
