Doctor Palmer the Rugeley poisoner, between 1846-1855 went on a spree taking the lives of people with poisons, it's thought he took the lives of 4+ people. It's also believed he poisoned his 4 infant children. His trial relied on toxicology experts as there were no actual witnesses to his crimes.

Ethel Lillie Brown, born in 1892, had a child out of wedlock the child became her sister when her parents took her in. Ethel married Arthur Major. Circumstances changed and their marriage went downhill culminating in Arthurs death by Strychnine placed in his sandwiches.
