Anyway, I'm the last person to claim expertise on this stuff. YouTube is a godsend, and there exists a Discord server that focuses on this specific niche of FFXIV modding called "Students of Baldesion"

It's like, 90% self-taught. Just looking at pre-existing things in vfxeditor and seeing how it's set up and trying to replicate it. I was fortunate enough to be in a position where I had a ton of free time at that moment, but that's no longer the case (hence why this specific mod is taking awhile)
