It is off the beaten path. Like you said, depends what you like. If you like watching Great Lakes freighters going past and having access to a world class walleye fishery you can get to 15 minutes after you get off work, it'd be hard to beat that place.

You can also catch walleye right from shore in mid afternoon. Some people do, anyways.

Do they like it? As a visitor, I really like it, but I have no idea what it would be like to live there.
