A light novel series can only be so boring for so long before it becomes existential and you wonder what you're doing with your life and want to change it so you're not spending hours reading a book series about nothing

This is the 3rd time I put the light novel series down and it's for the same reason: skimming through the rest of the volume and realizing its just descriptions of food, Dahlia impressing nobles with her earnestness, and a meeting about that earlier meeting that end with more descriptions of food

There isn't even a sense of building toward something like the slower parts of Ascencence of a Bookworm, nor are there any shorter term stories and mysteries like in Apothecary Diaries. Nothing happens. Dahlia cooks. Ivano and X male character repeatedly compare butts and breasts for some reason
