Names aren’t difficult.’ Our names are our names. She’s probably quite keen on her own. Learning how to say someone’s name correctly is a pretty basic level of respect.

She asked the audience to clap, to disguise her inability to pronounce the ‘difficult’ names. The names that she probably thought were ‘ethnic’ - although she also scrambled a few ‘Anglo’ names.

I was at an awards show today where the host thought it was hilarious that she couldn’t pronounce the nominees’ surnames, and bragged that she’d done no preparation.
