I listened to this like three times without noticing that it had restarted. I thought it was just like two minutes long

Today kind of sucked for like five reasons and three of them are the same reason

I get it back then, but it’s not gonna fly in 2025 lore space.

To be continued…

Sonic Spinball is apparently canon which means so are 16 emeralds that look nothing like the 7 we know. Look, I’m fine with there being more than 7, it’s probably the case, but I can’t imagine that calling the emeralds in this game The Chaos Emeralds would be anything other than a misnomer

The Time Stones sentience probably only extends to a chaos sized version of the kind of self-preservation behavior a plant would exhibit.

First off, it doesn’t seem like the Time Stones are as sentient as the Chaos Emeralds, nor as good at protecting themselves, seeing as the only obstacle in their special stages are Eggman’s UFO’s(and ring loss I guess but that opens up a whole other can of worms I’m not getting into right now)

is because they were stuck in those weird containment things. Moving onto the others though, let’s start with the Time Stones because they act very similarly in this respect. However instead of focusing on what they have in common, I want to focus on what they specifically don’t.

concepts of good and evil, and furthermore hold allegiances and values. I find it very interesting that out of the games in the “Chaos Emerald info-dump duology”, Superstars has special stages, while Frontiers very specifically doesn’t. It’s very possible the only reason this is the case-

I’ve come to some very specific conclusions on specifically the Special Stages, and how diegetic they really are. It turns out that they’re pretty diegetic. It’s seems as if the Chaos Emeralds have self-preservation instincts of some sort? I wouldn’t be surprised if they were semi cognizant of-

I could go on, but I want to talk about anything else for at least a little bit. This was just for people following my Sonic lore rambles to get some closure on my last rant. Moving on now, the Chaos Emeralds and their relation/lack of relation to other gems. How many are there? What’s happening????

If I’m being honest though, after doing so much research on the little(sometimes huge) things, I don’t think this can/will stay the case indefinitely. The ring stage in Shadow 05, ring energy as a concept, the seemingly inconsistent effects chaos energy has on different things.

Anyways back to rings, as Evan Stanley herself stated, the current mandate regarding rings from Sega is that the ones you collect in stages are non-diegetic, stuff Ian Flynn has said supports that, it seems pretty clear as of at least a year ago, Sega is pushing hard on this concept
